The Power Flow screen is one of the most useful features in the Tesla app. With Power Flow, you can see:
- real time usage & production data for your home.
- powerwall charge & discharge times.
- power & energy data over different intervals:
- Export data to .csv (spreadsheet) format for further analysis.
You can view historical power flow data by tapping any of the four icons (grid, solar, home, Powerwall) on the live screen or by tapping the bar graph icon in the top right corner. If you scroll down from any of the historical screens, you can see aggregate data (total energy) for the time interval you've selected. Depending on the settings you've applied (backup-only, self-powered, or advanced mode & price schedule), you will have different metrics visible. For example, if you are using advanced mode, you can view aggregate data for off-peak periods or peak periods in addition to totals for the entire interval.
While viewing historical data, you can turn on/off each of the power sources and the home by tapping the icons at the top. For example, if you want to view solar data only, you would tap the solar icon so it is illuminated and tap the grid, home, and Powerwall icons so they are not.
Additionally, you can drag your finger across the graph to see each individual data point on the graph. As you drag your finger across the graph, the exact value for each icon (grid, solar, home, Powerwall) will be displayed underneath the icon at the top of the screen. This can be very useful if you are trying to determine how much power something is using.
